"Anything under the sun is beautiful if you have the vision. The world is not interested in mere pictures.  People look for this expression of beauty. The painter will never achieve this by merely painting pictures...he must show people more than they already see and he must show them with so much human sympathy and understanding that they will recognize it as if they themselves had seen the beauty and the glory. This is where the artist comes in."

The  artist and teacher, Charles Hawthorne's words remind me of the challenge before the painter.  I hope some of my work has shown you a glimpse of the 'beauty and the glory'...... it is all around us.

My first art training was at the Ridgewood Art Institute where I studied the painting principles of Frank Vincent DuMond, noted American Impressionist painter and teacher.

This foundation in oil technique was extended to other mediums as I continue to study acrylic, oil and pastel with some of the best comtemporary landscape painters including Kenn Backhaus, John Budicin,  James Coe,  William Hook, Susan Ogilive, Colin Page, Bob Rohm, Phil Starke, George Strickland, and the late Glenna Hartmann.

My paintings have been exhibited in juried shows in seven east coast states receiving multiple awards including "Best in Show" and "First" in my medium.

The work is in numerous private collections in the US and Europe and has been shown in corporate and museum settings as well as galleries in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maine.

A large thank you goes out to my collectors who have traveled on this journey with me.... your support, encouragement and friendship continues to inspire and keeps me painting nature's wonders.

With a return to my winter studio I have the time to paint larger works and revisit all the wonderful places I experienced during my time in Maine.  Catch my New Work as it appears on the site.
