Bio/Gallery/Events for 2018

"Anything under the sun is beautiful if you have the vision. The world is not interested in mere pictures.  People look for this expression of beauty. The painter will never achieve this by merely painting pictures...she must show people more than they already see and she must show them with so much human sympathy and understanding that they will recognize it as if they themselves had seen the beauty and the glory. This is where the artist comes in."

W. Charles Hawthorne

The artist and teacher, Charles Hawthorne's words remind me of the challenge before the painter..... I hope some of my works on the site have shown you a glimpse of the 'beauty and the glory' .....it is all around us and I am most fortunate to spend my time finding those places and moments that need to be remembered and recorded.

My early art training was at the Ridgewood Art Institute where I studied the painting principles of Frank Vincent DuMond, an American impressionist artist.

This foundation in oil technique was expanded to other mediums as I continue to study acrylic, pastel and oil with some of the best contemporary landscape painters, including Kenn Backhaus,  John Budicin,   James Coe,  William Hook,  Susan Ogilive,  Colin Page,   Bob Rohm,  Phil Starke,  George Strickland,  and the late Glenna Hartmann.

The paintings have been exhibited in juried shows in six east coast states receiving multiple awards including "Best in Show" and "First" in my medium.

The work is in numerous private collections in the US and Europe and has been shown in corporations, museums and galleries in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maine.

A large thank you goes out to my many collectors who have traveled on this journey with me....   your support,  encouragement  and friendship continues to inspire and keeps me searching for that new vista just around nature's corner.
